The library is located in the new building of the Jewish Campus in Berlin-Wilmersdorf. As part of this visionary project, we were commissioned—alongside other areas—to develop the interior design concept for the student library.
Our goal was to maximize the use of space, providing as much storage as possible for the books without overwhelming the room. To create a calm and natural atmosphere, we chose a design made entirely of oak wood, matching the flooring to give the impression of a seamless unity.
The campus features no right angles or perfectly straight corners; the entire building has an organic shape. We incorporated this into our custom fittings by designing rounded, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. A special feature of these high-quality built-ins are the also rounded drawers, which presented a constructive challenge.
We also designed and commissioned custom tables specifically for the room.
Anjora Architectural Design was responsible for the concept development, interior design, and planning of the library.
